THE BENCHWARMERS STORY
2025 ChampionLove Thy Nabers2025
2024
We founded this league in 2023, when Andrey Senyuk brought together a group of close friends with a shared love of fantasy football. While our league may be relatively young, we certainly aren’t new to the game. Between us, we’ve been playing fantasy football for more than a decade, with some of us approaching two decades of experience.
Since the beginning, we’ve built a league that is highly competitive, active, and—perhaps most importantly—unwilling to let anyone else get an advantage. We’re constantly looking for our next move, whether that’s making a trade, working the waiver wire, stockpiling draft capital, or convincing ourselves that the player we just acquired is actually going to turn our season around.
Over the years, we’ve accumulated our fair share of league lore — some of it flattering, most of it not. Taras traded a first-round pick for Austin Ekeler, who promptly became a backup. Of course, no fantasy football league would be complete without the never-ending battle over the rules, either.
Through it all, we’ve kept coming back every season—and so far, no manager has managed to win the championship twice. Whether that’s a testament to our competitive balance or our collective inability to repeat success is still up for debate.
Ilya's Jonathan Brooks Gambit
Ilya once gave up a significant amount of draft capital to acquire Jonathan Brooks, only for the move to backfire spectacularly.
The Draft Board Incident
In perhaps our most impressive organizational achievement, Andrey accidentally deleted our entire draft board right as the draft was starting.
Ilya vs. Bogdan, Every Offseason
No argument has been more consistent than Ilya vs. Bogdan, particularly when it comes to determining whether certain players are actually eligible to be kept. Every offseason, we somehow find ourselves back in the same courtroom, debating the precise interpretation of the keeper rules as though the fate of the league depends on it.
Man, I didn't need those picks anyway.
